New works: String Quartet No. 4 «1 for 4, 4 for 1» for the Carmina Quartet and Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 2 for Antonio Meneses

After the successful premiere of the Cello Double Concerto «Dialogues Cellestes» and the CD recording of this work with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the collaboration with Antonio Meneses continues. He commissioned the Cello Sonata No. 2, which will be premiered at Cremona February 2013.

Like the second string quartet also the String Quartet No. 4 with the title «1 for 4, 4 to 1» was written for the Carmina Quartet. All four movements begin with a solo cadenza, one for each of the four musicians and all of them have exposed solo passages in the entire work. The title «1 for 4, 4 to 1» is derived from the famous phrase «One for all and all for one".
